Light & enjoy!
Tips for getting the best experience from your candle, in a proper and safe way.
Prioritize Safety
Firstly, it's crucial never to leave a lit candle unattended. Each year, numerous house fires start this way, so ensure you're not contributing to those statistics!
Secondly, before lighting your candle, carefully inspect it. Even a small hairline crack in the glass can lead to the jar shattering once the candle heats up. We advise discontinuing use when only 1/2 inch of wax remains, as this is when the flame is hottest and insufficient wax may stress the glass, possibly causing it to crack. Always place candles on heat-resistant surfaces and handle them with caution due to the exposed flame and potential heat.
Lastly, keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
Candle Care Tips
Before lighting or relighting, trim the wick to approximately ¼ of an inch to ensure the longest and cleanest burn.
Consider using extra-long matches or a lighter to prevent burning your fingers. Removing debris from the match before lighting can prevent sooting and excess heat on the glass.
Ensure the candle is placed on a flat, level surface away from drafts for even burning.
Note that coconut-blended waxes behave differently than regular soy wax. With coconut blends, a full melt pool may not form until halfway down the jar. Unlike 100% soy wax, coconut blends have less tunneling due to lacking a "memory”. Initially, there may be some wax clinging to the jar's sides, but as the wick burns, the heat will melt the remaining wax.
